Trimble Navigation Acquires Spectra Precision

DAYTON, Ohio - Trimble Navigation, developer of innovative Global Positioning System (GPS) technology-based products in Sunnyvale, Calif., has purchased Spectra Precision for approximately $200 million in cash and $80 million in seller debt financing.

Spectra provides software and laser-based construction surveying and machine control solutions to the construction, surveying, civil engineering and agricultural markets. The deal is expected to close at the end of the second fiscal quarter.
