Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers recently conducted the largest auction in the company’s history last week at its permanent auction site in Orlando, Fla., generating more than U.S. $64 million in gross auction sales.
The unreserved auction, Feb. 17-20, attracted 4,504 bidders from 46 countries and all 50 U.S. states. About 85 percent of the equipment was purchased by buyers from outside Florida, including 29 percent by buyers outside the U.S. A record 857 people registered to bid in real time on the Internet, while more than 18,000 unique visitors came to the Ritchie Bros. auction web site during the sale.
This week Ritchie Bros. will hold auctions in Toluca, Mexico; Albuquerque, N.M.; Minneapolis, Minn.; and Moerdijk, Netherlands.
